Between Past and Future
Between Past and Future is an embroidery about inherited gestures and the knowledge carried through the hands. It begins from memories of my grandmothers one sewing, the other crocheting. I remember the rhythm of their gestures, their tools, and the quiet attention held within repetition.
From a position between what Ι inherited and what has yet to take form, I always return to fabric as a way of approaching the memories I did not fully live but still carry with me.
The work considers textile practice as an intimate connection between generations passed from body to body through gesture.
